Few prehistoric Indian archaeological sites in the Canadian River region of the Texas Panhandle are as dramatic as Alibates Flint Quarries. For 12,000 years, people quarried flint for tools here -- dating back to Native Americans of the Ice Age Clovis Culture who used Alibates flint for spear points to hunt the Impresial Mammoth.
