Over 15,000 prehistoric and historic Native American and Hispanic petroglyphs stretch for 17 miles along the volcanic encarpment on the west side of the city of Albuquerque. The petroglyphs and associated archaeological sites relate a 12,000 year long story of human use on Albuquerques west mesa.
