History Details For - Suffolk Resolves1/1/1774One of the first real actions towards independence by the colonists. The Suffolk Resolves advised that Massachusetts form its own government to collect taxes and withhold them from the British government until the Coercive Acts were repealed. The people of the colony were to arm themselves and form a militia. The Suffolk Resolves were passed by the Massachusetts legislature without changing anything. Links:
