History Details For - Trincomalee I4/12/1782In the 2nd battle in the Bay of Bengal between the French and Britih British Admiral Edward Hughes (commanding 11 ships) met French Admiral Pierre de Suffren commanding 12 ships. The British lost 2 ships for 6 weeks to be repaired. The British also suffered many casualties in this engagement, but the French victory was slight and the balance of power did not change in the region.Links:
